Aikido

As we all know, Sophie is already starting with aikido training. As you can see here, she is learning the first part of a standard mawashi geri kokyunage (timing throw against roundhouse kick):

Cousin Naomi's birthday party

We had a lot of fun at our cousin Naomi's 1-year birthday party. Naomi wore a stunning red floor length gown, while we opted for a shorter number that showed off our ankles. Naomi has a lot of the same toys, so we were very excited about that.

Happy First Valentine's Day Sophie!

Today was Sophie's first Valentine's day. Tomorrow she'll get lots of Valentine's from daycare (although she already got some in the mail from her friends, Lauren and Evan, and her cousin, Miranda). But, as we can tell, she only has eyes for Daddy.

Sophie also had a pretty good day because she actually enjoyed ALL of Gymboree. She and a little girl name Milley even got to exchange some words of baby-babble accompanied with some clothe-tugging and some mild hair-pulling (by Milley). Sophie had a very good time with it.

Sophie Crawls!!

This is the third day of real-deal crawling for miss Sophie. She had been doing this very strange crawl before that for some reason involved climbing over her own legs, but now she can do the real thing. Yay!

Super Bowl Sunday

Sophie went to her very first Super Bowl party today. She had a great time eating her Cheerios and cheering on her new favorite sport's team, the Patriots. Luckily for her, she was back at home and asleep when the Patriot's lost the Super Bowl.
