A Good Memorial Day

Sophie had a great day today! First, she got to sleep in until 8:24 am (when she woke up all on her own!). Then, she ate breakfast, got dressed, and went with Mommy and Daddy to see her very first parade. Mommy and Daddy kept telling her to pay attention to the Marching Band because she was going to be in it one day, but she just liked looking at all the girl scouts and boy scouts who were throwing candy and handing out mini-American flags. Later, she went home, ate lots of lunch and snacks and got to play outside for a long time. Mommy was scared Sophie had a sun-burn because she came in-doors looking red, but it turned out she was just flushed all over and her sunblock and sunscreen worked (yay!). Then, Sophie took a shortish nap, ate more snacks, and headed to the North Shore with Mommy and Daddy for some tasty seafood. It was very windy at the North Shore, but Sophie was very brave and only snuggled into Mommy when she got scared. Once inside the seafood stand, Sophie did not want to eat the seafood, so instead she ate lots of Mommy's fries. Afterwards, Sophie got to see two doggies that reminded her of two of her doggies: a very large Bernese Mountain dog that looked like her Grams' Layla (but bigger and skinnier) and an older Golden Retriever that looked a lot like her big brother Hunter, only with an almost entirely white face! Finally, Sophie was palced in her carseat for the ride home and promptly fell asleep.
When she came home, Mommy gave her snacks, a bath, lots of playtime, and finally bedtime with her best friend, Mel (her miniature stuffed lamb blankie). Sophie will have lots to tell the daycare crew tomorrow!
